There has been so much DOING OF THINGS in the last few months and I’d really like to document it. In an attempt to make sure (a) I actually do that and (b) that it’s not too unwieldy, or rather totally unreadable, I’m gonna steal [personal profile] copperbadge’s Three Things format: three bullet points and an extra per item.

An interesting blog post from a fan of black metal, neofolk, and oi! genres - all genres that seem to have a certain attraction for fascists. The author also doesn't like fascists, and doesn't want to abandon their preferred music genres to fascists. For a number of reasons, although this is one;

"We shouldn’t let nazis have nice things."

See the brave hero do battle!

On this page, after an initial explanation of the punctuation splurge that accompanies Donald Trump, Jr.,'s name when it appears in the pages of the New Yorker, there is a video in which that publication's copy-editor makes a brave attempt to turn a couple of Trump speeches into something that might resemble language, without changing the notice. He makes, let us say, a few changes.

Brave, brave, soul.

It's prolly a walrus...

So i was wrong about having a Chronic Fatigue Flare Up - that doesn't give you a fever. I've had a temperature most days for the last three and a half weeks and I am very, very bored. Otherwise the symptoms are much the same as chronic fatigue - exhaustion, swollen glands, feeling generally achey and brain fog.
I've been prodded by the GP and there's no obvious flavour of ill (my throat, ears, lungs, guts and urinary tract are all normal-for-ludy) but a blood test some virus type infection markers. A glandular fever screen was negative (though they aren't very reliable and i have had that before) I was worried i might have an enlarged spleen but it turns out i've somehow managed to pull a muscle under my ribs cause a totally unrelated pain! So all she could recommend is rest and fluids and watching out for secondary infections. She couldn't guess how much longer it might go on
I'm feeling bored and isolated but I don't have the energy to do anything so i'm feeling pretty sorry for myself.

Circumstances mean i wouldn't have been doing much MumCare over the last fortnight anyway (Brother visit and then planned Respite) but ongoingly that's a problem. And of course it'll be the Smalls school holidays soon and other summer-y things are coming up like my Birthday and BiCon.

Meep!

London Pride 2017

So London Pride was amaaaaazing, as ever :D I showed up at 3 to start marching at 4, because London Pride is massive and our streets are narrow so even Section C didn’t get started for a good three hours. I marched with the National Union of Teachers - I was with two of my best friends, who’re both in the NUT, and my god I’d like to be unionised. So it was me, Violet and the Dark Lady (this was their first married Pride! ♥), Miss Godfrey, and Miss Godfrey’s lovely colleague and his husband. Lovely Colleague is a newly-qualified teacher and has been told Miss Godfrey is a bad influence (their school is a HORRORSHOW to the extent that Miss Godfrey is probably about to blow the whistle on SATS-results-fiddling). His lovely Korean husband was having his FIRST PRIDE EVER and they both clearly had a blast.

shoot me down, I won't fall )
